Die Hard
On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are joined by one of our favorite guests, Mr. Johnny SoCal, to talk about the action-packed (and apparently very contentious) 1988 film from John McTiernan, Die Hard.
Ask yourself, is this a Christmas movie? Does it just scream “the holidays” or does it just happen to take place during a month in winter when many people celebrate spending time with family and receiving presents from a jolly man dressed in a fluffy red suit? Impassioned opinions are coming from all sides in this episode.
What should be completely clear to everyone is that this film is a classic for a reason. Whether it’s Bruce Willis’s badass police officer, John McClane; Alan Rickman’s legendary German terrorist, Hans Gruber; or the non-stop action from the roof of the Nakatomi Building all the way down to the underground parking garage, it’s all amazing.
I shall hear no dissenting opinions on that verifiable fact, thank you very much.
All I want to hear is a level of enthusiasm that would make Jake Peralta giggle with glee. We’re not usually ones who would demand such a thing from anyone. People should like or dislike whatever they wish. To that, I have one thing to say: come ooooooonnnn! It’s Die Hard. Freaking Die Hard!
We had a great time chatting with Johnny about this one. Also, join us in remembering and celebrating the amazing Alan Rickman. He will forever be the best.
