On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are doing our best to believe in Santa because we don’t want to be eaten by any weird Krampus monsters. We watched the 2015 film from Michael Dougherty, Krampus.
Who knew that the holiday season could be so damn scary? Leave it to the Germans to make Christmas the most horrifying time of the year.
But if you or your children need more motivation to be good people throughout the year, then there’s no terrifying horned creature better than this fright. One look at its gaping maw and you’ll volunteer at a soup kitchen on Christmas Eve in no time!
That appears to be the real purpose of Krampus. Our friendly Saint Nick is here to give all the good people the gifts of their dreams. His devilish assistant is here to give all the bad people, um… [checks notes] birch rods? Yes, Krampus gives people birch rod punishments.
Things sure were different back when Krampus became a thing. On the other hand, I’d much rather take a birch rod than be terrorized by this movie’s monster. Anyway, happy holidays!
