On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are doing our best to stay out of the rain, bathtubs, pools, fountains, and indoor plumbing. We’re talking about the 2013 film from Griff Furst, Ghost Shark.
It may surprise some of you to learn that sharks are a lot more talented/fearsome than you might have first known. That’s not to say that they’re inherently terrifying and evil; most of the time they’ll leave you alone.
But Jaws wasn’t just the thrilling summer blockbuster we all love today. Indeed, it was a dire foreshadowing of the underwater terrors to be discovered.
Suffice it to say, mysticism and sharks makes for a terrifying combination. What do you do when all water is off limits? What do you do when taking a quenching sip of delicious and previously innocent water puts your life in danger?
These are the hard-hitting questions that a B-movie of this caliber is asking, and we praise it for that. No other film has the daring to stand up and do what this film has done. Bless you, Ghost Shark.
